Hi! Looking for a legacy inlet temp sensor on 13 yr old Gene Cafe. It seems they've changed it and now you need new mother board and new sensor. Any ideas where I can find compatibile old one? Mark

I like my popper but need more capacity
rthorntn
Hi,

It's probably a common problem, I have a small popcorn popper and a variac, I really like the results.

The problem is I can only do 4 cups of coffee (50g roasted, 12.5g la pavoni shot) with one roast and so I find myself sitting on the porch for over an hour doing multiple batches.

Ideally I want to buy or build (I know a little bit about electronics and I can solder) a fluidbed that can do 250g at a time, if it could automatically do a similar profile to me turning the variac that would be great (PID?). I do have a spare Zallus Oven Controller kit.

What would you do?

Thanks for looking.

Richard

Check out the fluid bed forum section. There's quite a few builds that should give you ideas if you decide to build.

250 - 300 g is a good size for a fluid bed. Youll still be able to run off a single 10A power circuit.
