The pyrex bake a round appears to be a go to roasting chamber on many builds. They are very tough to come by in my part of the world. Are there easily accessible (ie Amazon) alternatives to the bake a round? |

I've used borosilicate tubes sold as replacements for old gas lanterns. Found in outdoor/camping stores. Or just cut the base off a glass vase? That's what I'm currently using in my large air roaster. Yes, I like doing things on the cheap. |

I've tried cutting glass in the past by scoring, heating and then submerging in cold water. This has not yielded favorable results. Are you using a dremel or another method to cut the bottoms off your item of choice? |

I scored the glass with a glass roller scoring tool thing, then alternated between hot and cold water poured onto the score line until it separates. |

Such discs: https://hobbyking...3-2mm.html ... in a proxxon (dremel like) drill/grinder tool. Cut under a water jet, to avoid any glass dust. Safety glasses, dust mask... |

Here is a supplier I found, they will make pretty much anything for you at any length. Their prices aren’t outrageous either. www.greatglas.com Edited by allenb on 09/14/2019 1:47 AM |

Unfortunately, no size in their offering is optimal for a roast chamber... All I found is 2 ¼" OD, which is too small, and 5" OD, that could be too big, and too short given the maximum 7" long offering... This is what I found in this section: https://www.great...inders.htm ... maybe elsewhere you was more lucky... |

Maybe worth a look? These are the glass tubes used on patio heaters, can be found in several sizes and prices on amazon. https://www.amazo...ss_sc_2_14 Edited by JackH on 09/30/2019 9:54 AM |
