I rarely purchase roasted coffee. I just ordered 4 bags from Mountain Air Roaster.

Hi, I use a wok with a glass lid for roasting. shaking the wok is a good exercise, actually.

Drum angle
kwrcst
Hi again all,

can anyone share the angle your drum is set up on so it allows for bean drop when the door is open? I figure it doesn't need to bee too steep but I doubt it can be completely flat.

thanks

Is the first time I hear there is such angle... always thought the beans are pushed outside by vanes !

Looking at some of the example drums, it looks like the vanes pull the beans towards the back as they toss them in the air. I assumed, there was a slight angle involved to get them to return to the front of the chamber

Drum is level, outer vanes against the drum move the beans forward (and out) and the inner vanes move them back to keep them evenly distributed while roasting.

Ahhh. that makes sense now.
