1 lb roasted lasts a week. I can taste the flavor increase to peak, then drop after. Still very good, but interesting to follow the wave of flavor rise and fall.

I seem to have lost any roasting touch I thought I had. Very frustrated to be wasting time and money. I’m hoping someone can provide some insight on roasting at high altitude. I’m at 4400ft. Thank

Hottop Roaster KN-8828P-2K (No Longer Available)
rroehrig
Was looking at several used Hottop model KN-8828P-2K machines and I'm finding out from Hottop that this model has been discontinued. Anyone know a reason why?
Guess Hottop only sells the B and the 2K+ models now. I realize the P is the programed model, but am not sure why this would be discontinued. Is there something negative about this machine?

I can say that the programming was a major PITA and lacked any sort of in-roast control. The control was by temperature and it was binary. If you find a good deal I believe that you can replace the P-2K control panel with the B-2K panel. There have been changes so check with Hottop for details before purchasing.

Thank you Randy. Hottop emailed me back very promply to answer my questions. The unit that has been discontinued is the P-2 which they said is a model that is 10 years old. The P-2K is also no longer available also. Will hold out for the B-2K or K+.

The P-2 and the B-2 were both discontinued a long time ago whenthey switched to the K thermocouple. The only difference between the B-2K and the P-2K is the control panel and those are interchangeable with the possible exception that the control panel side cover may also need to be changed depending on which control panels are available.
