While you were sleeping I have been active in booting out some spammers along with the posts they tried to sneak past me

Eth Nat Yirg Idido roasted yesterday. I dropped some off at a friends coffee shop. In a few days he will brew it and tell me what he thinks. We believe my roasts are better than what we buy.

3lb Shop Whitmee?
Very much a newbie here who has caught the bug after touring the Eastern Caribbean tasting a wide range of roasts and beans, as well as visiting the Probat museum in Emmerich.

I've been given a Whitmee Shop Roaster last used 25 years ago and gradually brought it back into use after a bit of welding, rewiring the motor, and adjusting for running off butane cylinders.

I am told that it probably dates from the 1920's and I would love to know more about this model - absolutely no luck searching the internet.
peperium attached the following image:

Nice looking find you've got there! I was unaware that Whitmee made an open style direct flame as you've got there. All the Whitmee's we've posted here are the closed body style which I'd love to get my hands on someday, that is, one small enough to fit in my basement.

I'll do some Google diving this weekend and see if my search luck is any better than yours.

1/2 lb and 1 lb drum, Siemens Sirocco fluidbed, presspot, chemex, cajun biggin brewer from the backwoods of Louisiana
