Heat Gun + Egg Beater roaster
tamarian
This is my first built roaster from 2 years ago, and was made after my Genecafe board died for the second time. It was in storage for over a year and I never thought I'd use it again. But my current roaster is undergoing serious upgrades and took more than I expected, and still need work and I'm out of beans. So I thought I'd share it with you in case it can help someone, since it is very basic, cheap and easy to make.

Componenets:

Heat Gun: Skill digital heat gun, 2000W, high/low fan.
Egg beater: No name brand,
Dimmer
Stainless steel pot with glass cover, insulated
Colander

Here what it looks like, but ignore the rest of the stuff, it's part of the new build:

The egg beater is placed below inside a box to hold it steady with a long shaft (BBQ skewer) to avoid melting the egg beater:

May roast some sacrificial beans to re-learn it, and post a video later.

Sort of a stir-crazy, KoffeeKosmo, bread maker cross.

I can see the drive shaft comes up thru the second shelf, what are you using to driver the egg beater?

Absolutely. It started as heat gun/bowl, then needed better agitation. I really liked bread machine designs, but didn't know where to find them locally, they are not popular here. Then I used the egg beater from the top, and the plastic on the egg beater started to deform, so I placed it at the bottom with a long shaft. Finally saw the KoffeeKosmo stirrer and rigged mine similar:

A dimmer controls the egg beater, and using one of the egg beater mixer arms, chopped off and the wires hold a sink strainer, with the center hole filed as a square, to couple the square shaped skewer:
