My cheap HD adapter had a well known, overheating problem, that was much discussed in the adapter's forum.
Looking at it I realized that there was little clearance from the base of the gadget to the table that, IMHO, restricted the air flow.
I just supplemented the rubber "feet" and that took care of the overheating problem.
Reading about overheating problems, and fan obstruction events in the GC, I also found that the bottom clearance is not very generous and also added a 1cm supplement, just in case.
If it doesn't help at least it won't harm.

About three years ago, I started roasting with my GC on a wire rack shelf unit and it seems the roaster hasn't over heated since... I never though about it until now...
