Eth Nat Yirg Idido roasted yesterday. I dropped some off at a friends coffee shop. In a few days he will brew it and tell me what he thinks. We believe my roasts are better than what we buy.

They seem to be after the shoutbox. They have been removed. I don't see anything in the forums.

Fraudulent Coffee Practices
Dan
According to a literature review of 34 articles on coffee quality and "authentication," coffee sellers sometime defraud the consumer. From what I can tell in this article (I finally found the full text) and the abstract of one they cited, the fraud is; "False declaration of geographic, species, botanical, or varietal origin."

The label says the contents are "coffee" and that's what you get. Whether its from the region the front label says, or really Arabica, no one knows for sure.

Unlike, say the wine industry, when the label says the grapes came from a certain region and year you know it is true because that industry is controlled.

So the take-away is this: Now there's one more reason to home roast!
