Eth Nat Yirg Idido roasted yesterday. I dropped some off at a friends coffee shop. In a few days he will brew it and tell me what he thinks. We believe my roasts are better than what we buy.

They seem to be after the shoutbox. They have been removed. I don't see anything in the forums.

Starbucks to start growing coffee in China
DavidG
The Green Mermaid is vertically intergrating. Here's the story (lots more on google news):

http://www.cnn.co...starbucks/

With all the available coffee just south in Vietnam (including increasing Arabica), makes you wonder what's afoot. Most likely Yunnan coffee will be grown, processed, roasted, sold and drunk in China. I wonder if any will be hawked alsewhere? Stateside?

I'd love to get some greens just to see what growing and processing tolerances *$ finds acceptable.

FWIW,

There is more to coffee than just mass production.

The beans I use have a whole story behind them. The plantations handed down through the family over generations etc.

It just wouldn't be the same. IMHO

but maybe that just me.

I'm quite sure Starbucks can come up with a nice story about their beans to sell their coffee.

Yeah, how they were gently picked and handled by the tender hands of children (24/7/365 with a brief 1/2 hour rest each day). :|
