how does everyone feel about using aluminum as a base metal for an RC/ tubing supplying heat.. the only issues ive read about is the connection between aluminum and alzhiemers. opinions?
Pros = cheaper, easier to mill/deal with using wood working equipment. did i mention cheaper.

There is no correlation between aluminum and Alzheimers. It's a persistent rumor without factual basis. Seriously.

No problems here. Fine for most housings etc. I don't use it directly in the heat stream though. It corrodes a bit on the exhaust side of things.
It's a nice cheap way to figure things out, with at least a moderate amount of durability.

Another 2c worth,

The roast chamber on a roaster I had a few years ago made by Unimax was all aluminum.
