daniboy... You will best get an answer if you post in the forum. And the reply will be available afterwards, also.

Morning Ed, I haven't done any green coffee hoarding yet but am hoping the supplies don't end up like the toilet paper isles!

Hi gang,
I'm going to post elsewhere about my roasting adventures with the Gene Cafe I bought in August last year. Meanwhile, sad to say, mechanical and electronic stuff just upsets me. If I were to try to do the servicing described earlier in this thread, I'd be a nervous wreck. Roaster and any humans in proximity would suffer. Anyone know whether the company will take it for maintenance? I've done perhaps 45 roasts in it, and although the coffee still comes out great, I sense a possible increase in smoke and a change in the roasting aromas -- more toward roasty perhaps more quickly. I do clean as thoroughly after each roast as vacuum will allow. Thanks. Michael. BTW, I love the machine, and I'm super happy with the coffee.

I am so grateful for the information John Despres posted on this thread on how to disassemble the chaff collector for cleaning a 2 or 3 times a year. The Gene Roaster is a beauty and I want to take good care of it. Mine is fresh out of the box it arrived in yesterday.

No roasts yet, but coming soon. I'll post as I progress!

Thank you John. Thank you Eddie.
