How do like my latest instrument.Yes, its a 1964 Bacharach Air Velocity Meter. Next step is to find out how much heat it can take. Thankfully I have a 'donor'
(bad spring) unit for that because the one pictured is in excellent condition.

Here is a short study I made to try and explain how my unique roaster works:
Chart#1 - Heat watts= 1.0 KW, flow= 50 CFM, air only.
Chart#2 - Heat Watts= 1.0 KW, flow= 50 CFM, air only.
Chart#3 - Heat Watts= 1.0 KW, flow= 60-38 CFM, beans.

PV temperature measurements are taken with a probe located 1.75 inches below the perf plate. BMT is calculated. The resulting coffee from this roast is very good. I adjust only the blower control during each roast.

Is that meter kind of like the electronic one we discussed and I used with my roaster? Except that yours here is all mechanical in nature?
