Some days this stuff is nuts...

I get those great tastes by simply buying the best coffee and roasting it myself...

What you're reading is my slow descent into insanity...
The way they roast, it's a wonder you can taste all those subtle flavors.

KKTO Roaster.
Esmeralda, that has had a lot of talk recently, is also a GESHA.
I bought 1 pound from SM, due UPS today.

"I wish I could taste as well as I wish I could roast."
This is interesting indeed! For some odd reason, when I finish my roasts at 465 F (bean temp) I don't usually obtain those kind of flavor notes. Mine are usually more like:

"A little bit of oak or fruitwood charcoal essence. Herbal ash complexity. Super-clean tar notes. Vibrant. Sparklingness. ... Lush, tropical carbon notes, hints of charred white, not yellow, peach."

Maybe it's due to not being a Geisha? BBQ grill

1/2 lb and 1 lb drum, Siemens Sirocco fluidbed, presspot, chemex, cajun biggin brewer from the backwoods of Louisiana

I might try it just to calibrate my taste buds to better enjoy the good stuff.

Respect the bean.
